Currently in association with Penspen Limited – one of Europe ’s leading independent pipeline engineering and design consultant - PT. Petrotechindo Utama is appointed as the Project Management Consultant for South Sumatra- West Java Pipeline Project Phase II- Onshore.
Job title : Fiber Optic Cable Roll-Out/ Telecommunication Engineer
Report to : Lead Controls Engineer
Type : Contract Basis - to April 2008
Role :
* Follow-up of the FO Cable Laying Process along the Pipeline ROW:
* Review of the Sub-Contractor engineering documentation,
* participation to the selection of the splicing/ jointing methodology,
* follow-up of the FO Cable jointing quality, etc…
* Knowledge of FO cable laying specifics in swampy areas is appreciated.
* Provide technical assistance to Telecommunications engineering team relative FO cable cross-country roll-out matters
* Participate in the Project Team to the Review & follow-up of the other communications requirements of the Project, including Fibre Optic System, VSAT, PABX, Microwave and VHF systems
* Coordinate construction supervision activities, including interfaces among multiple Construction Contractors, related to communication discipline
* Follow up & monitoring EPC contractors’ specifications, procedures, data sheets, calculations, simulations, etc, related to communications design to ensure compliance with Contract requirement
* Assist in performing Site Acceptance Tests and Site Integrated Acceptance Tests, in order to verify contractors’ communication design being in line with design standards, specifications and process provisions
* Supervision of Contractor through commissioning phase.
Qualification :
Education : University Graduate
Language : Fluent written and oral English
Experience : Min. 5 yrs Oil and Gas Industry with 3 years specific Fiber Optic Cable Roll-Out, Telecommunication experience
Able to work with minimal supervision, shows initiative, discipline and high self motivation
