JOB VACANCY AT QATARGAS

We are looking for a ENGINEER STAFF

Qatargas Operating Company has exciting opportunities available for qualified
professionals to join our company in the development of the vast North Field in Qatar.
Qatargas currently has under development over $20 billion worth of major projects,
including the construction of four new Liquefied Natural Gas trains for the production and
export of LNG to every corner of the globe.

PROJECT ENGINEER

To plan the execution of project work associated with the process, Mechanical/piping,
utilities and storage which are part of the Company’s offshore production facilities and
onshore plant. Shall have good technical knowledge of Mechanical, Piping, Process or
structural/civil design at a supervisory level. Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Chemical
(Process) or structural Engineering. At least 10 years of experience in EPCM type of Oil &
Gas projects with Major Engineering Consultants, International EPC CONTRACTOR, or Oil &
Gas COMPANY. Very good written and spoken English. High computer literacy and familiar
with International CODE such as API, ANSI /ASME, ASTM, NFPA etc.

FACILITIES ENGINEER

Engineer, responsible for investigation of plant technical problems and the basic design of
modifications required to solve these problem. Candidate should have Engineering degree
and a broad knowledge of various engineering areas, enabling him to carry out multi-
disciplinary studies and designs and to interface with specialists in the plant. Should have
a minimum of 8 years experience including 4 years of multi disciplinary project experience

FACILITIES ENGINEER (PROCESS)

Responsible for investigation of plant technical issues and basic design of modifications
required to solve problems. Candidate should have an Engineering degree and a broad
knowledge of various engineering areas, enabling him to carry out multi-disciplinary
studies and designs and to interface with specialists in the plant. Should have a minimum
of 8 years experience including 4 years of multi disciplinary project experience.

PIPELINE ENGINEER

Prepares technical specifications and inspection procedures. Leads annual Risk assessment
of the pipelines and underwater structure. Plans and execute via specialized contractor(s)
ILI, ROV, acoustic inspections of the pipelines and diving inspections of the underwater
structures. Develops repair procedure with structure engineer for underwater structure.
Ensures proper maintenance of inspection reports and records in electronic database(s).
Utilize PMS to plan for ILI surveys. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline, preferably
Mechanical Engineering and 8 years experience in offshore oil & gas industry. Good
written and spoken English.

PLANT INSPECTOR

Carries out regular external and internal visual and NDT examinations, on plant stationary
equipment such as columns, vessels, boilers, heat exchangers, storage tanks and process
piping. Witness servicing and calibration of Pressure Relief Valves. Schedules and plan
inspections. Prepares Inspection reports and issues recommendations. Implements
Computerized Inspection Management program. The successful candidate should have
Completion of Secondary (12 years) education, plus 2 years Diploma course in Mechanical
Engineering completed. A Degree in Engineering Discipline is preferred together with 6
years experience in Inspection and testing work and in a petrochemical or chemical plant.
A qualification (AP1510/570 or equivalent) will be viewed favorably. Good written and
spoken English.

PROCESS ENGINEER

Chemical Engineer with relevant degree and least 10 years experience. Provides process
technology services to the onshore LNG plant and offshore facilities. Main activities will be
process design of plant modifications and safety studies. Reviews plant operating
performance and daily advises operations on plant performance, optimization and risks.
Trains less experienced process engineers and graduates.

LEAD DISCIPLINE ENGINEER

To lead a team of discipline Engineers, covering Mechanical, Piping, Instruments and
Electrical Engineering. Team responsibility is to provide technical support to plant
operation, maintenance and internal project development in the respective areas.
Candidate should have Engineering Degree and knowledge of other discipline engineering
areas, enabling to lead the team and steer the activities. Should have a minimum of 12
years experience in his engineering area, plus managerial/supervisory experience.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

To provide expert technical advices for all existing and proposed electrical installations of
Qatargas Onshore and Offshore plants including power generation, distribution , MV and
LV plant equipments, power electronics, HVAC. The successful candidate should have a
Degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum 7 years experience working in Installation,
Commissioning and Maintenance on Electrical equipments and systems with Major Oil and
Gas Company. Knowledge on relevant international/industrial standards and procedures.
Good written and oral communication skills in English. High computer literacy in office
and engineering applications.

ROTATING EQUIPMENT ENGINEER

To support the Maintenance Mechanical Superintendent in ensuring machinery is available
to meet operational requirements safely, efficiently and at minimum cost. To provide a
monitoring and advisory service on equipment condition and reliability. To provide advise
service to site and supervise activities carried out by vendor specialists and Qatargas
maintenance team. The successful candidate should have a degree in Mechanical
Engineering and minimum 5 years working on rotating equipment in a gas processing
plant and at least 3 years supervisory experience. Good written and oral communication
skills in English are essential.

STEAM SPECIALIST

Responsible for technical support on the QGII HHP steam systems, covering boilers,
HRSGs, steam turbines and boiler water treatment. To Plan and supervise studies on
Qatargas steam systems. To design and implement special testing programs to anticipate,
evaluate and resolve steam system problems. The successful candidate should have a
degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 6 years on High Pressure
Steam systems (60 bar) in the oil and gas industry. Detailed knowledge of boiler water
quality management and high pressure steam turbines is essential. Design office
experience is desirable, a plant operating background is essential. Good written and oral
communication skills in English are essential.
