PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) operates a coal mine in Sangatta East Kalimantan and is one of the largest export coal mines in the world. Coal Production in 2007 was 36 million tones and there are plans for further expansion in 2008 and beyond.
In material movement terms, KPC is also one of the largest open pit mines in the world with a fleet of over 200 haul trucks and 30 shovels moving over 2 millions tones of material per day

Specialist Purchasing

Vacancies exist within Supply Department for the position of Specialist Purchasing. Those who are interested in and meet the requirement for this position are invited to apply.
Key elements of t he position include:

procure materials of right quality, quantity at the best available prices, at the right time, from the right source in order to satisfy users' requirements in conjunction with KPC policy and procedure.
*
Initiate and drive cost reduction project.
*
Conduct research and preparation prior to negotiation meeting in line with cost saving plan.
*
Maintain good relationship and enhance networking with key suppliers.
*
Promote and participate in local business development program in cooperation with ESD.
*
Initiative and drive continuous improvement in purchasing best price.
*
Analyze direct charge spending.
*
Process and manage Forward Purchase Agreement (FPA) based on the allocated group class.
Qualifications:
*
Tertiary qualification (S1) in any discipline. Preferences are Business / Accounting / Economic or Engineering background with 2-3 years experience.
*
Having knowledge of purchasing, custom, logistic warehousing principles and market place.
*
Extensive knowledge of prevailing laws and regulations, especially those related to commercial activities.
*
Good planning, people organization and numerical skills.
*
Strong Analytical and negotiation skills.
*
Computer skill such as MS Word, Excel, Ellips etc.
*
Excellent interpersonal and communication skill (written & oral) in both bahasa Indonesia and English (level 6)
*
Understanding supply chain management and continuous improvement techniques.
