OUTSTANDING OPPORTUNITIES EXIST WITH OUR CLIENT, A MULTINATIONAL ENERGY COMPANY BASED IN QATAR

A diversified use of natural gas is emerging, adding a new dimension to traditional uses of gas by converting gas into, amongst other products, a high quality transportation fuel virtually free of sulphur and aromatics. Our client recently launched a project to build and operate a world scale Gas to Liquids (GTL) facility at Ras Laffan Industrial City near Doha, under an agreement with the State of Qatar. Qatar, with one of the largest reservoirs of gas, has the stated aim to be the GTL capital of the world.

The project will firmly establish our client as a leader in the GTL industry and you can be part of this exciting world-class project. Extensive training and continuous development will be offered to all candidates employed. Selected employees will also have the opportunity to learn new technologies that will be at the forefront of our industry in the future. We are currently looking for candidates to fill the following positions:

SENIOR FIELD OPERATOR (Reference: PGTL SFO1)

During the pre operational phase, you will be involved in the development of work instructions and procedures for the designated utility areas,
providing assistance in precommissioning / commissioning of equipment and acquiring in-depth knowledge of processes, equipment and systems including vendor information. The operational phase will see you working in and directing a team of operators to ensure the clean, safe, effective and optimal operation of the designated refining plant and equipment during mode change, start up and shut down; monitoring of equipment and process conditions, effective use of the permit to work system and producing maintenance requests.

Qualifications and experience : A technical diploma or certification is required and a minimum 5-8 years operational experience in gas plants, refineries or chemical plant including working with contractors during, (pre) commissioning and start-up is preferable, Proven track record in the position of Field Operator, supported by working exp. in any of the following utilities operations:

• Electrical Power generation & Distribution including generators driven by gas or steam turbines and emergency back-up systems.
• Desalination process and steam distribution.
• HP Steam Boilers including demineralisation.
• Effluent and water treatment.
• Air compressors and liquefied oxygen.
• Air Separation Unit.
• Flare system.

You will have demonstrated ability to work in a team of operators in a multicultural environment and must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Fluency in both written and verbal English is mandatory and tests will be given. You will understand and be able to identify when a unit or piece of equipment is deemed unsafe to continue running and can implement the shut down procedure. You will need to think and act under pressure. You will determine maintenance techniques appropriate to operational requirements and equipment integrity and can identify when equipment is requiring urgent maintenance.

AREA PANEL OPERATOR (Reference: PGTL APO2)

The pre operational phase will require the development of work instructions and procedures for the designated utility area where you will assist in the pre-commissioning / commissioning of equipment & control systems. During this phase you will acquire an in-depth knowledge of processes, equipment and systems including vendor information. The operational phase will see you responsible for all aspects of operating the panel for the utilities area and directing a team of operators to ensure the clean, safe, effective and optimal operation of the designated refining plant and equipment during mode change start up and shut down.

Qualifications and experience : A technical diploma or certification is required and a minimum 8 years operational experience in gas plants, refineries or chemical plant including working with contractors during (pre) commissioning and start-up is preferable, Proven track record in the position of Panel Operator, supported by working experience in any of the following Utilities operations:

• Electrical Power generation & Distribution including generators driven by gas-or steam turbines and emergency back-up system.
• HP Steam Boilers including demineralisation, desalination process, steam distribution.
• Effluent and water treatment.
• Air Separation Unit, air compressors, liquefied oxygen.
• Flare systems.
• Above average knowledge of computerised systems for data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Understands and is able to change conditions on the unit to meet targets and specifications.

You will have a demonstrated ability to work in a team of operators in a multicultural environment and must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Fluency in both written and verbal English in mandatory and tests will be given.

UTILITIES FIELD OPERATOR (Reference: PGTL UFO1)

During the pre-operational phase you will be tasked with developing work instructions and procedures for the Utilities area; assisting in pre-commissioning and commissioning of equipment and acquiring knowledge of processes, equipment, systems and vendor information. During the operational phase you will monitor equipment and processes; assist to ensure a clean, safe, effective and optimal operation of your plant and equipment; assist in operations during start-up and shut-down.

Qualifications and experience: A technical diploma or certification is required and a minimum of 5 years operational experience in gas plants, refineries or chemical plant. Experience working with contractors during (pre) commissioning and start-up is preferable. Candidates with a proven track record in the position of Field Operator with solid working experience in any of the following Utilities operations will receive preferential status.

• Power generation & Distribution.
• Effluent and water treatment.
• HP Steam Boilers including Demineralisation.
• Air Separation.

You will have worked in a multicultural environment and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. English writing and verbal fluency is mandatory.
